Using stainless steel fasteners could be beneficial for you
Fasteners in real sense are the unseen force that is holding the industrial world together today. Any mechanized industry however small or large it could be, has to depend on the fasteners to keep everything together. A machine always requires nuts, bolts, screws, threads, wheels and such other things that are common in the world of engineering and mechanics and yet indispensable. Both for manufacturing and for repair these articles are essential and these are the items that are termed as fasteners.
Industrial fasteners can be made of any metal or material. In these days of improved hard plastics many of them including screws, nuts, threads and bolts are also made of plastic. Other common metals are iron, carbon, copper and steel. It depends on the type of work as to what type of fasteners you will use.
When it comes to a comparison among different materials used for making the fasteners, you can well imagine the fragileness of plastic. They can also not be used in large machines. Their uses are limited to only small household and workshop machines. Copper is a very good metal for industrial purposes especially if it is the power industry. However, they are expensive and the cost may not permit their use in making regular fasteners. Iron can get rusted easily and effect the efficiency of the machine. Hence, from all respects whether it is the screw or the socket or anything to be used as fasteners, steel seems to be the choicest metal for you.
